If there are 20 students in the class, how many candy bars does each person get? Kayla donated 60 chocolates to the class. If there are 20 students, how many chocolates does each person get?
Look at these perfectly perpendicular adjacent lines having a little Fun on Fun Friday! :) The Game: Shapes Ahoy Mix around the room until you hear a Math Command using our Geometry vocabulary. Each command has a rule: Perpendicular= find a partner and become like an L Parallel= lay straight and side by side, never intersecting Opposite= point to someone across from you Adjacent= link arms with someone next to you Think quick and find a partner as fast as you can. The last person standing without following the command is out until the next round. Last two standing WIN! *choose to play with or without elimination, or even mix in some of your own commands. 3.G.1 Common Core StandardUnderstand that shapes in different categories may share attributes, and that the shared attributes can define a larger category. Recognize rhombuses, rectangles, and squares as examples of quadrilaterals, and draw examples of quadrilaterals that do not belong to any of these subcategories. Center 1: Computer Fraction Games Center 2: Fraction War -With your partner, flip over 2 cards each to reveal your fractions. -The smaller number will be your numerator, and the larger number will be your denominator. -Cut your number line into the correct number of fractions. -Find your fraction on the number line and shade in your total. -Compare your fraction to your partners. -The person with the larger fraction gets to keep the cards. -Whoever has the most cards at the end of the game, WINS! Center 3: Multiplication Bump Practice your multiplication skills with a partner with this fun set of BUMP games. Each day, challenge yourself with a new set of multiplication skills until you feel like you've mastered each set.
For Math this quarter we will be switching groups with some of the other third grade classes.
We will start the quarter off by reviewing Fractions on a number line, and comparing equivalent fractions. Once we have all mastered this skill, we will move on to telling time, and understanding elapsed time on a number line. Following that, we will spend some time working with units of measurement and reviewing all that we have learned in Math this year. |
