The kids have spoken and the winner is... Amelia Earhart for third. Over the next few weeks we will be exploring the genre of biographies. Together we will be learning all about famous leaders in history and their contributions to society. Read to find out more about the outstanding accomplishments and world changing impact that one person can make. "In July 1960, at the age of 26, Jane Goodall traveled from England to what is today Tanzania and bravely entered the little-known world of wild chimpanzees. She was equipped with nothing more than a notebook and a pair of binoculars. But with her unyielding patience and characteristic optimism, she won the trust of these initially shy creatures. She managed to open a window into their sometimes strange and often familiar-seeming lives. The public was fascinated and remains so to this day." What are some words that describe Simba's character? Use examples from the clip. What are some words that describe Dory's character traits? How are Dory and Marlin's personalities different? RL3.3 Describe characters in a story (their traits, motivations, or feelings) and explain how their actions contribute to the sequence of events.
