Thursdays at Lake Myra are bully awareness days. We stop to take the time to have classroom discussions and share true stories about people who have been bullied in the past. We talk about reasons why people bully others, and what we can do to stop it from happening. On Thursdays, our school wears purple in honor of bully awareness day. How would you handle a bully? Would you... a. Walk away? b. Ignore it? c. Stand up for yourself? d. All of the above? Share your story in the comment section below. Tell us how you solved the bully problem, first hand! This week we have spent a lot of time independently researching and reading facts about one the most inspirational women in history, Helen Keller.

I thought this would be a fitting quote for picture day. :) Quote for our Beginning of the Year Testing: BOG/EOG
Each morning my students come in and write the Quote of the Day. After writing their response, I had them share their dreams with their teams. I absolutely loved hearing their responses. One boy said he wanted to go to the moon, another boy wanted to join the NFL. :) Days like today are why I love my job, oh so much.
