We shall rebuild.Although this was not my favorite experience, I feel like we all learned many important, and valuable life lessons:
1. Always keep an extra pair of rain boots near by. :) 2. Don't keep the things we love, thrown on the floor. 3. No one likes the smell of soggy fish feet 4. We can't get upset about the things we can not change 5. When at the lake, we all must remain calm, and "just keep swimming, just keep swimming." 6. Any day can become a happy day if we laugh long enough. 7. Numbers, and test scores do not define our level of intelligence because we are all LEADERS! Michael Jordan is a former American basketball player who led the Bulls to six national championships and earned the NBA Most Valuable Player Award five times. "Growing up in Wilmington, North Carolina, Jordan developed a competitive edge at an early age. He wanted to win every game he played. As his father James later noted, "What he does have is a competition problem. He was born with that ...the person he tries to outdo most of the time is himself." Michael Jordan had the mindset of a champion. Check out exclusive clips of MJ’s workout when he was on the Chicago Bulls and learn more about his training regimen from his former trainer. Hear from his trainer just how MJ developed the mind and body of a champion. Genius Hour is a time where students are able to take charge of their own learning and research a "wonder topic" of their choice. This quarter we all began our research with a common topic, The Human Body. Our questions were broken up into smaller sub topics, such as: bones, hair, organs, skin, joints, and blood Synergize: Together is better*A very special thank you goes out to the wonderful Miss Adams who has worked with us tirelessly every Friday to make this meaningful learning opportunity possible. :)
Each and every day that we get out of bed, enter a building, open a door, or even walk in a room, we have the power to choose how we are going to feel. It is human to feel hurt, to feel sad, or to feel angry, but we have the a choice to decide how we are going to feel for the rest of the day. We have the power to make a change, or let it go.
At first, this concept was very difficult for me to grasp but, with practice, I realized that I could train my brain to see the good, and to accept the things that are out of my control. We have much more power over our thoughts, emotions, attitudes and moods than we ever would have thought possible. I am in charge of me! I can control how I feel, what I do and what I say! Make sure to choose happiness, each and every day! :) Every morning during our morning meeting, we get to share our "Quote of the Day" writing responses with a new friend. We think about the Quote, we pair with a partner, and we share our thoughts and opinions.
